It's going to depend on what sort of experience she has with games.
The combat is all turn-based so there's more strategy and less need for fast reaction time. The way to learn deathblows isn't clear in the game, but there are guides online to help with that. There are a few platforming segments which can be tricky since the game engine wasn't really made for platforming.
I wouldn't say it was a difficult game, but there are definitely some frustrating parts. Fortunately, most problems are either "you need to upgrade your equipment" or "you need to level up a bit more."
