I'll be more specific then! I'm genuinely impressed with how many creative projects you're working on with a variety of media (digital painting, 3D modeling, fashion and cosplay!! so much) and always look forward to seeing what you're up to. The WIPs, sketches, and process time lapses are also fascinating to watch as it all comes together. I'm really glad you joined the forum, and so glad to see these games getting so much love even years later.

aw, thanks! Though I wouldn't quite call it cosplay, I guess it almost kinda is in a sense. haha
And Im really glad you say so. Coming into the fandom so late- some 23 years late- I just felt like I wanted to do a ton of different things with it and maybe it would help breathe new life into it, being an old internet fandom and all. It always makes me sad seeing old fandoms from the 90s die out slowly where no one is doing much of anything within the online space and you don't hear anyone talking about it all that often anymore. Its what happened when I watched/read Rurouni Kenshin some 13 years late to the conversation. Felt like I was coming into a ghost town, having to view defunct fan sites through the wayback machine, seeing a fandom that was long grown up and scattered.

Though I was surprised to end up learning the Gears/Saga fandom is still really active on online spaces like twitter and even here- an entire forum dedicated to it- though its understandable given Monolith Soft is still going strong, pulling new fans into the extended xenoverse over the years. Fans like myself who was drawn in by the art style and overworld concept of XB1. Though I never expected XB1 would so quickly become a game I spend less time thinking about and doing fan works for, overshadowed by its pre-predecessor.

What I really didn't expect was that it'd drive me to do so much art, though. Nothing's ever given me this much drive in my art before; for years it was almost completely stagnated. Im just happy there's still an active fandom to come into and share my stuff with.

^ Started right after that first trailer showing off chain attacks. Wanted Manana because I thought she was so cute with her endlessly sparkly eyes.

^ Xenogears style Zanza. I was really trying to capture that expression he has in the wii version that DE just doesnt capture the same way, eyebrows raised, oh so superior gaze.

^ ah the slew of lazy 3/4 view portrait paints. Always a thing people fall back into when they have artblock. Was doing a face plane study and it turned into Ziggy bc of course it did.

^ My sister asked if nopon had legs like that owl picture in that one famous.. tumblr post, was it?, so I had to do a nopon version of that. lol, so silly

You already know how much I love that Ziggy portrait (nothing wrong with a 3/4 view!) and it's legit endearing how much you love Fei. You can see it, it just radiates from the page, especially on the series of expressions. He is The Blorbo, Most Cherished

Speaking of serotonin, that portrait of Ziggy sparks joy every time I see it. Also what Elendraug said about your Fei drawings--even though most of what I know about Gears is via osmosis, the love really comes through in the way you draw him and makes me feel invested.

Also the nopon with owl legs is adorable, omg.

yeah, it just kinda happened after finishing XB3. My brain was like "well that was amazing. ...but all the parts that were pulled straight from Gears tho ", went right back into contemplating Gears 24/7, and Fei suddenly became my most beloved blorbo. lol

That's about it, just, it looks like the lapel on his suit, to the point I'm like "??? is that the same texture???" nobody has a flute in XS though

but there are a piano and a harmonica I guess? they sure are musical instruments. legit they are just regular musical instruments, I swear this isn't me making a joke. IDK if the Xenoblade ones are magic

hm, yeah that is pretty similar with the color/design combo. And no, the flutes arent magic. ...though there is something unexplained with the off-seeing in general that makes me go 'wtf is up with that' that you might possibly explain as 'magic' or.. something...

Thanks! Before I started sharing stuff it was like, I'd make something, stick it in my current year art folder, move onto the next piece, and they'd sit in there collecting dust never to be seen by anyone else, so Im glad someone's enjoying them

Of course! While right now all Ive got swimming in my brain is Xenogears, no doubt Ill go back to doing more for Xenoblade and also Xenosaga as I complete the games.

Xenogears 25th posts! and also some misc I also posted on the same day.

zest over on Twt (@rhythmshock, go check her stuff out, its great) made an amazing Lacan design and it inspired me to try my hand at my own.

He’s got his little paint case seen with him in Nisan which I put the symbol of Aveh on. I think since he came from nearby Lahan that he might've gotten it as a gift from someone who visited Bledavik or went there sometime himself to pick up quality paint supplies. And I gave him a little pouch on one hip and a scroll/parchment holder on the other. And now, living in Nisan, he's got a little half cape after being pulled into the conflict, much like Krelian's.

Definitely didnt want to deviate too far from Grahf or Fei’s designs or add too much busy details, though. Wanted to keep it about as simple as the XG designs in general so I didn't wanna give him too much leather armor either. Did a bit of a recolor of Grahf's stuff (the pants, shoes) as the black just didnt suit him and I definitely wanted to keep his top the white and blue as a nod to his in-game sprite reusing Fei’s.

The second Fei chibi I was going to save til summer, but like, thats so long from now. He got his hands on another fish. I actually went to The Spriters Resource to find said fish so I knew what kind of fish it was lol

And as for the third from last- I unintentionally made this one as a mirror to the other one I’d done before which was really happy and only realized partway through the sketch phase.
I feel years after the game ends they would still be healing from trauma. Especially Fei, of his own as well as the collective he gained.
Semi-inspired by the fact that Ive always had terrible nightmares and wake up like this; Im forever grateful to my sister for helping me through those times when I wake up confused unsure of whats real.
