Every few weeks or so, I get hit by the urge to write about Xenosaga. Spoiler-tagged because they are chock full of spoilers.

The highlight reel!

Fate of Frailty: Recurrence (46490 words, T rating)

The ongoing passion project. It's a rewrite of a story I started but never finished back in the mid-2000s. I restarted work on it in 2019 (but didn't start posting until 2021) and it's still not done. But further along!

A prequel fic set between 4755 and 4767 (currently up to 4761) in which Mary, Shelley, Jr. and Gaignun grow up together and start building the Kukai Foundation. There is much Dad Helmer.

Cosmos Petals (2500 words, G rating)

Cosmos Petals II (2500 words, Not Rated)

My drabble collections, featuring several characters and tropes.

Reliance (1685 words, T rating)

Prequel, 4763. In addition to the nightmares, Jr. begins having debilitating headaches as well. When Gaignun learns about this, he offers to use his powers to make the headaches go away. The two take a moment to enjoy a bit of telepathic cuddling.

Unfinal Rest (1901 words, T rating)

Prequel, 4669. Two years after his death, Jan Sauer awakens to find himself transformed into Ziggurat 8.

Candles (1914 words, M rating)

Prequel, 4761. In the far reaches of space Albedo and Jr. meet through the spiritual link, and Albedo forces Jr. to see the monster his twin has become, as Albedo murders one of the Kirschwassers.

Rebirth (2397 words, G rating)

Episode I, just before the Gnosis attack the Woglinde. chaos has been awaiting the rebirth of Mary Magdalene, but the soul that appears is not hers. Still, he can't reject this new existence.

Hope you enjoy!

I can't help but admit that the Albedo ones still give me the shivers. But by far my favorite is Fate Of Frailty. The Worldbuilding is really awesome, I urge everyone to read it. Kudos if you have to. It's awesome. I'll always cherish the Albedo ones she wrote for me. I know he isn't her strongest character to write, but she still wrote him for me anyway. ./////. It's really sweet of her. @Karen Hart

@whyfish @Elendraug are *really* awesome too, sorry I haven't left many reviews. I've been really busy with other shit, my drafts often tie me down 😂 Making it a priority to read more than write for these next few months. It's really annoying when you know what you want to write down, but you can't quite get it down right on the page. It's so frustrating.

In A Good Place (1873 words, G rating)

Post Episode II. Juli has bought a new house on Fifth Jerusalem, and life with MOMO is going well.

Excerpt:

MOMO stirred the penne into the water. “But if there was no emergency, why did they ask you to stay?”

Juli took the empty tomato bowl and the hand grater to the dishwasher. “They thought they could either bully or guilt trip me into staying. Neither tactic worked.”

“It would seem they'd grown accustomed to having you already present on the station, and they don't like the change,” Jan observed.

“Indeed, no! I should've moved to the planet years ago,” Juli said, with a sidelong glance at MOMO.

MOMO flushed. “It's okay. It's good we're together now.”

Daybreak (600 words, G rating)

Episode I. The Durandal has returned after securing the last Emulator, and Gaignun watches the dawn, happy to have his family back.
Nice writing, I have learned a lot of vivid descriptions from your writing, which is definitely a great help to my translation beauty XD!

After Episode II, Shelley takes a sketchpad and some colored pencils to an autumnal forest on Second Miltia and processes some of what's happened.

So I've been doing a (slow) bit of work on Fate of Frailty these past few months. I'm getting excited about where the story is headed, and so I've come to babble incoherently at all of you!

Fate of Frailty: Chapter 38

(March, TC 4760) Mary and Shelley unwind with a jewelry catalog; Gaignun gets word from the scoutships he sent out that U-TIC is taking steps to find and contain the scattered Zohar Emulators; Canaan and his coordinator make their first attempt at retrieving the data inside Canaan, after moving from the Dammerung to Second Miltia.
