This is a belated introduction, I guess, but I saw an opportunity to be thread #42 and couldn't resist.

Hi, I'm Elendraug, and I've been a Xenosaga Freaks since I played the series in winter 2006/spring 2007. I am an Elsa Crew and Godwins Appreciator, and I would like Jr. and Gaignun to be happily married to each other. ❤️🖤 I consider suffering through playing through Level 5 of HaKox to be proof that I love Jr. enough to get his final weapon for him. Pied Piper is incredible and I enjoy it a lot more now that I have a better understanding of the sociopolitical themes it was exploring. Juli & MOMO & Ziggy deserve more love and I am eternally heartbroken about Sakura Mizrahi. Every few years I get sad about Cherenkov and doodle him on the Beach of Nothingness. Allen was my first favorite character, because he immediately endeared himself to me by way of advocating for Space OSHA safety guidelines during that training dive. ETA: Oh, and I invented Citrine/Pellegri as A Thing because I like them, and I keep meaning to revisit them and I've got yet another WIP waiting to go, RIP. Helmer and Ziggy are Best Dads. Miyuki is Best Girl. Jin's bookstore would be right at home on the Foundation if everyone on Second Miltia wouldn't miss him too much if he moved it.

I played Xenogears in 2005 (maybe 2006? I think 2005), although I never finished it because Dominia kicked my ass and I couldn't backtrack enough to level up. I got through enough of the game to know that I love Bart Fatima dearly, and Bart/Fei is my favorite ship aside from the Yggdrasil itself.

I don't really have time to play JRPGs these days but I've heard Xenoblade is good. Maybe eventually!

Uhhhh, what else. I write and draw, although I've put more skill points into the writing thus far. Jintoki's programming work on the XenoComi fan translation inspired me to goof around with Python and Ren'Py, and I'm hoping I can help adapt the routes for Shion and Allen. I'm having some success teaching myself Japanese after years of intending to learn.

It's great to be back in this fandom and to see a lot of familiar names on this forum; I'm glad to be here! Thanks for having me.

ETA #2: lmao I just discovered the thread cover feature, thank you to my friend for creating this masterpiece and allowing me to further edit it

Hey, welcome back! Good to see you again.

Your cover image gave me a good laugh. The Xenosaga rabbit hole obsession is deep.

Nice snatching that opportunity for the Hitchhiker's Guide reference! Also belated welcome to you! Always good to see more Xenosaga appreciators here and nice to hear you're pushing your self to learn more! (Actually interesting idea to think of that this post kinda connected the dots in my brain for... what if Renpy VN of Pied Piper?? That would be a cool fan project that I totally wonder if some of us could put together someday.... hmmm interesting....) Anyway, good to see ya here!

Hi!

Thank you! It's good to be back, and I'm glad you're still running this space. Fun fact, when I first played XG/XS I thought it'd be a quick thing and I'd get back to finishing FFXII, but here I am 15 years later, oops. The series is so information-dense, there's a lot to explore and discuss. (A Bunnie hole, possibly!?)

Thank you! I love Douglas Adams; the absurdist "welp, life sure is weird" themes in his work, that ultimately aim towards compassion and empathy, really speak to me.

I'd be so on board for a project like that, time permitting! Pied Piper is incredible, and IMO some of the best writing in the entire series, and it's tragically overlooked by fandom. Since it's increasingly unlikely it'll ever be brought over by whichever parent company currently owns it, it really does fall to us all as fans to try to preserve what we can.

I'm grateful the transcript/translation was made available years ago, and that there's even some footage someone was dedicated enough to upload to YouTube. You wouldn't think that a game from such an iconic series could be considered "lost" but it doesn't take much. (I think FFVIII had some issues that delayed its release for digital distribution, didn't it? They didn't retain the files, or something?) Yet another example of why sites like Godsibb & X-U (and love from the users) continue to be crucial to maintain these works where possible.
